A few months ago, we told you about the history of Carmageddon, a famous racing game praised for its gameplay and violence. After the first title released in 1997, two sequels were made: Carmageddon II in 1998, and Carmageddon TDR in 2000. A screenshot of Carmageddon TV before its cancellation In 2003, SCi, publisher of the game series, started the development of a fourth episode. Titled Carmageddon TV, this new episode tries to explore a new direction. The universe is "rebooted"

Here is my latest game, created for the Ludum Dare 32 competition (game creation in 48h), under the theme "An Unconventional Weapon". Weapon Regulator is sending you to a battlefield. Your mission is to seize any unconventional weapon that you'll see. You are neutral, so the soldiers won't hurt you, but beware of the stray bullets! Use arrow keys / WASD to move.Use Space / Control / Shift to seize a weapon from a soldier (you have to move over the soldier first). &nb

Again, I participated in the Ludum Dare 31 competition, where you have to create a game all by yourself in 48h on a given theme. This time, it was "Entire Game on One Screen." The game is called "Attack of the Screen Scrollers". It's a top-down shooter, where you'll have to protect the background image of your single game screen against the deadliest enemy of pixels: scrolling! "Screen Scrollers" will invade the screen border, and force the image to scroll towa

Beware of the Screen Scrollers! They will scroll your "one screen game" background image away, and destroy those precious pixels forever. Also, this image is your only ground, so you'd better protect it if you don't want to be "scrolled away" too!Use the arrow keys (or WASD) to move, and click on the "Screen Scrollers" to shoot them with your laser. You'll earn points for each kill, so aim for the high score! (my personal record is 1292 points) IMPORT

The differences between game and labor are culturally defined. According to places and cultures, those activities are similarly described as rational layouts of resources to achieve some specific goals, by following rules located into well-structured environments – although more and more complex and less defined. For all that, despite of the proximity of these abstract concepts, the process of gamification promotes a brand new model of engagement into the activity, inviting workers to expl

Carmageddon. A video game known by people even if they never played it, thanks to its scandalous reputation. However, this game is far from solely being the "nasty racing game where you have to crush pedestrians" that many media and politicians wanted to ban. Carmageddon is first and foremost an excellent game, featuring many technological and gameplay innovations that deeply influenced the racing game genre. We interviewed Neil Barnden, co-founder of Stainless Software gam

Happy new year everyone! This new year comes with an improved version of my first ever LudumDare competition entry: The One Fork Restaurant. To celebrate the release of the final version of this game, I've decided to write down a full postmortem about it. As the title implies, it's a funny time-management game taking place in a restaurant, where many people come to eat various meals. But the restaurant has only one fork, so customers have to share it! When the customers are w
